Trailer Idea for Film: “I Want a Baby Goat”
FATHER is mowing the lawn, pushing mower away from DAUGHTER. He doesn’t bother to turn towards DAUGHTER when he speaks. His words are carried on the wind, which blows noticeably. The wind is coupled with an overcast sky to set an ominous tone.)
FATHER: Why are you driving your boyfriend crazy with all this goat business?
DAUGHTER (shouting after FATHER, her words falling on deaf ears): Because they’re adorable and show affection like dogs do! (Emotional Pause) I want one, daddy!
(INT. DINNER PARTY AT PARENTS’ HOUSE, IN A LONG DINING ROOM, AT A LONG WOODEN TABLE WITH AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE SEATED ON EITHER SIDE OF IT.
PARENTS, DAUGHTER, and BOYFRIEND are situated at the middle of the table, with PARENTS sitting across from DAUGHTER and BOYFRIEND. MAN WITH BRAIDED PONYTAIL AND GOATEE sits on DAUGHTER’s other side.)
DAUGHTER (to table): Yes, you can house train goats!
BOYFRIEND: Tasha, we’re not getting a baby goat!
(EVERYONE laughs)
MAN WITH BRAIDED PONYTAIL AND GOATEE (leans over and whispers discreetely to TASHA): I can get you a baby goat…a Cuban baby goat…
(EXT. FANTASTICAL FIELD POPULATED BY HOPPING AND PLAYING PYGMY GOATS.
TASHA and MAN WITH BRAIDED PONYTAIL AND GOATEE are riding bareback in slow motion on a black stallion. As the camera slowly zooms out, it reveals MAN WITH BRAIDED PONYTAIL AND GOATEE’s hands gripping the reins – he has rings on each of his fingers [insert hidden meaning here]. The camera stops at a full-length view of the stallion in a field, surrounded by the pygmy goats. The stallion rears and MAN WITH BRAIDED PONYTAIL AND GOATEE laughs.)

I would worry about a baby goat in my house. Like a full-sized goat, they will eat anything, but unlike a full-sized goat, they are less easy to monitor and small enough to fit in odd places. I am concerned that they may find their way under the covers at night leading to major surgery.
